Living & Learning Māngere

Welcome

At Living & Learning Māngere, we believe whanaungatanga, or relationship, is the strongest foundation we can build for tamariki, whānau and Kaiako to flourish and reach their full potential.

Located in South Auckland, our centre reflects this part of the city's culturally diverse community. As a centre, our Kaiako and support teams are here for whānau and tamariki on your journey to becoming capable and confident, and instilling in them a passion for lifelong learning.

Childcare in Māngere Curriculum

Our values of whakapono, tūmanako and aroha underpins all that we do. We see each child as a unique individual, and believe they deserve care that nurtures this uniqueness. We are also committed to developing and supporting their ako, while protecting their mana wairua with authentic loving and respectful connections.

In partnership with whānau, our team and Kaiako endeavour to create a safe space where aspirations are nurtured and needs are met— all while understanding how we all play a dual role of learner and teacher in the life of our child.

Our teaching is guided by Te Whāriki: He Whāriki Mātauranga Mō Nga Mokopuna o Aotearoa, which is embedded within our learning environments and our practice as a community of learners. We acknowledge our role to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, as well as our obligation to participation and protection to it, while being inclusive of our community's cultural diversity.

Our centre is well-resourced with a generous playground space that can be used all year long. You will also find two dedicated community rooms that allow us to provide support services like Plunket and budgeting advice on-location. Workshops on communication skills, adult literacy, a healthy lifestyle and child protection are also part of our services right here at the centre. There are regular visits from the mobile library to the centre. Our on-site community services coordinator can assist you with referrals and talk to you more about each of these additional services if you're interested.

We believe the connections made in the Living & Learning Māngere community keep tamariki safe and cared for, and create a sense of belonging and wellbeing for all.
